AVAILABLE FROM JANUARY 2011

Youth Enlightenment Service is delighted to announce that through funding from the Big Lottery Fund we will be running a free accredited Emergency 1st Aid and Fire Safety course.

The course is available for young people aged from 18 to 25.

This is a one day course and learners can earn a certificate in Emergency 1st Aid and Fire Safety when they pass their exam. This course covers essential requirements of most employers for 1st Aid and Fire safety. First Aid equipment and first aid trained staff in the workplace are requirements of Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. In emergencies, Emergency First Aiders can act to prevent situations becoming major issues and can limit potential sick leave through taking action quickly.

Fire Safety training for staff is also a legal requirement in the UK under the Fire Safety Order 2005. Every year people are killed and many more injured in fires at work, whilst the financial consequences of fire can be equally devastating. Annually the cost to business through fire runs to millions of pounds - roughly 80% of companies never recover. On completion of this course, learners will fully understand their fire responsibilities at their place of work.

This course is aimed at increasing your chances of finding employment in many different types of jobs.
